With an eclectic mix of research, academia and real-world practice, no one knows about the diversity of leadership better than Dr Luz Longsworth. With over 25 years of practical experience along with theoretical knowledge, Dr Longsworth has dedicated her career to holistically understanding leadership in the regional and global landscapes.
When she isn’t leading one of the campuses of the Caribbean’s premier university – The University of the West Indies – she’s contributing her expertise to several consulting projects.
Her consultancy has enabled her to provide her know-how on projects focused on strategic planning, team building and development, leadership in higher education and communication.
Additionally, Dr Longsworth has a strong research portfolio that focuses on topics such as leadership development, change management and transformation. Before dedicating her life to academia and research, Dr Luz was a leadership powerhouse having held the posts of General Manager of La Moda Export Limited in Jamaica and General Manager of Amicorp, in the BVI.
Dr Longsworth strongly believes in developing human resources and is a certified John Maxwell trainer. Through this, she has facilitated training programmes and workshops across the Caribbean and the United Kingdom for distinguished companies such as Ernst and Young, LEX, Courts, Sandals International, ExIm Bank and Scotiabank. Dr Luz Longsworth has seen and studied the evolution of leadership throughout her career and will be a valuable asset to this year’s conference.
