Dr. Safeeya Mohammed is a medical doctor on a mission to change the perception of wellness in the region. She’s spent the last six years starting a wellness revolution to transform the way people think about health. Feeling overwhelmed by the increasing number of preventable illnesses in the Caribbean, Dr. Mohammad founded SISU Global Wellness – an organizational consultancy that merges the science of physical activity with nutrition, sleep hygiene, stress management and other healthy habits. She believes people can be self-empowered by consciously creating equanimity in their lives.
The Leadership Series will not be the first time Dr. Mohammed will share her wellness philosophies with the world. She first brought her dynamic personality to the stage of The CARAIFA Congress in 2015 speaking on The Wellness Concept. Since then, she has blossomed into a sought-after keynote speaker, and most recently shared on Optimizing Digital Wellbeing in a Pandemic at Dubai 2020 Talks. A certified John Maxwell Leadership Coach, through SISU Global Wellness, Dr. Mohammad has also provided transformational training to a slew of organizations, including the UNDP, Caribbean Development Bank, BpTT, Massy Group and several SMEs.
This ‘Agent for Change’, graduated with her MBBS from UWI in 2004, and rose to leadership as the Class Valedictorian. Since then, she has been recognized as one of the 50 distinguished Alumni at UWI’s 50th Jubilee Celebration in 2011. Today, she is pursuing a certificate in Lifestyle Medicine at Harvard University, focusing on interventions for the prevention and treatment of lifestyle-related diseases.
Dr. Mohammad will inform this year’s conference on the ways to create holistic wellness for employees. She will focus her presentation on “How can leaders play a pivotal role in supporting employee well-being?”
